Introducing Chris Carter

September 3, 2014

Name: Chris Role: Sales Height: 6’ 3” Weight: 92kg I’ve been at Ribble since 2012, and I work in sales. I’m usually found on the phones, answering emails and helping customers with bike sizing in our showroom. Bike no. 1 – Ribble Gran Fondo, with Shimano Ultegra 6700 and Mavic Ksyrium Elite S wheelset. This is a great bike – the perfect ‘all-rounder’. Mainly used for my daily commute (15miles each way), this bike is equally at home on an all-day century ride, occasional sportive or after-work blast. It’s the ultimate balance of ride comfort (the ‘sportive geometry’ is key) and stiffness, which allows for efficient power transfer on the climbs. It also handles sublimely, giving massive confidence through the corners and while descending at speed. As I said earlier, my Gran Fondo is my daily ride when the weather allows, and has remained faultless from day one. Obviously it does require a lot of TLC, with regular servicing and all-too-often replacement of brake pads and tyres needed! Bike no. 2 – 2010 Raleigh Airlite 100. This is my winter/commuter bike, and gets used daily through the colder, darker and wetter months. It’s a good ride, and takes full mudguards, so is fairly practical as well. It’s an alloy frame, so is quite a harsh ride, but with carbon forks the handling is reasonable. I’ve made various upgrades over the years – in fact almost everything on the bike is different to the ‘factory’ spec – I guess you could say it’s a bit of a ‘Trigger’s broom’ bike.
